Loyola High School, Patna, India, is a co-educational Christian institution which was founded in 1969, originally for boys only. It is administered by the society of Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel (Ranchi Province).[1]

The school was affiliated to the Bihar School Examination Board in 1976 but switched to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1993. It expanded to include a senior secondary section on 1 April 2000 and now comprises primary, secondary and senior secondary sections.

The school has well equipped laboratories for physics, biology and chemistry, as well as for languages and computer studies. The school library is computerised.

Contents

Uniform

Students have to attend school in uniforms, the colours of which are white and air force blue. They are not allowed to wear or bring jewellery and are not allowed to use cosmetics.

Alumni

Loyola has an alumni association and maintains a database of ex-students. The primary objective of the association is to promote and maintain contacts among the ex-students and to help the school with matters concerning its promotion, development and welfare.[2]

Results

The reputation of the school has improved over recent years. It achieves excellent results in both board exams and in competitive exams such as Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), AIEEE and AIPMT. Loyola is known for students having all round capabilities and for its deemed excellence in the sports field as well.
